WELCOME • Nova Scotia’s First Lighthouse Museum • Half Island Cove, Guysborough County

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY, HOME TO THE OUT OF THE FOG MUSEUM, is located on the most eastern tip of the province of Nova Scotia. The area has a history that is rich in tradition. For centuries the people of the county made their living from the sea. The lighthouses and beacons that were located off the shores of Guysborough County directed many of our county fishermen to safety and have an interesting story to tell.

THE MUSEUM IS LOCATED in Half Island Cove, along Route 16 between the towns of Guysborough and Canso.

NOW OPEN FOR OUR 2022 SEASON runs from June 19th and Sept. 20th, Thursday to Monday, 10am-6pm.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK our supporters:
